How do TV networks afford all that fancy stuff?

How do they afford the TV shows (paying the actors/actresses) and those game shows who gives millions or hundred thousands everyday? It's impossible for commercial ads to cover it all. Any ideas?

Actually, what I know is, when you win 1 million in some show, they give it to you one-by-one.

For example you won 1 million is some show, they will send you like 20,000 every week until it reaches the point of 1 million.

I don't think so.. I think you claim the money in some cashier place and you get some reciept from the show and claim your money. Anyways, some shows like wheel of fortune and deal or no deal costs hundreds of thousands a day. Paying the 26k and the prizes

20% tax. i think that's too much.
if you win 2 million, you only get 1.6! that's so not fair!

From what I know, you need to wait for a while to get hold of the prize. (like two months) And that's right, there is a tax. But some games are tax free.
